Zverev beat Shelton to win the US Open — the 23-year drought continues. Trump said the U.S. might "keep the oil" in Iran. Sweden's election is deadlocked 176-173 with votes still counting. The Fed meets tomorrow. Gas hit $4.31.
Welcome back. A weekend that delivered more than expected. Alexander Zverev won his second Grand Slam of 2026, beating Ben Shelton in four sets — keeping American men without a major title since 2003. Trump floated the idea of keeping Iranian oil as war spoils. Sweden's snap election produced a photo finish: left bloc leads 176-173 with postal votes still uncounted. Gulf state leaders are trying to restore oil flow through Hormuz. And the Fed meets tomorrow and Wednesday — the hike is 90% priced in. Let's get into it.

President Trump made his most expansive public comments yet about the endgame of the Iran war over the weekend, suggesting at a Dallas rally that the United States should "stay in Iran and keep the oil" once the conflict ends — a remark that rattled diplomatic channels but lit up the energy markets. "Once we win, and we are going to win very quickly, the price of gasoline will drop like a rock," Trump said. "It'll be cheaper than water." Gas nationally hit $4.31 per gallon Sunday according to AAA, its highest reading of the year, as Brent crude held above $101. The Gulf state leaders — Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait — held emergency talks this weekend trying to broker a framework that would restore Iranian oil flow through the Strait of Hormuz without requiring Washington to formally stop its tanker campaign. The Omani back-channel between the U.S. and Iran is active. But the conditions remain the same: Iran wants the tanker strikes to stop first; the U.S. wants Iranian concessions first. Nothing has moved.

The Federal Reserve's FOMC meeting begins tomorrow and concludes Wednesday with a decision at 2 p.m. ET. A 25-basis-point hike — bringing the Fed funds rate to 3.75%-4.0% — is priced at 90% odds. Warsh's press conference Wednesday will be the most-watched hour in financial markets this week. What markets really want to know isn't whether the Fed hikes — it's what it says about November. The dot plot, released simultaneously with the decision, will show whether committee members expect one hike and done, or whether they're signaling more to come as oil drives inflation higher into the fall.

In 1973, a radical White House policy triggered a historic gold rush. Trump's rumored new Executive Order is about to do it again.

When the government severed the dollar's tie to gold in the 1970s, everyday Americans watched their purchasing power collapse. But a small group of prepared investors made generational wealth as gold prices skyrocketed.

Fast forward to today. With Jerome Powell out and Trump allegedly preparing a controversial "Financial Executive Order" to bypass the Fed and pump the market, the stage is set for an even bigger dollar shock.

Top analysts warn inflation will explode. But here is the good news: you don't need to hoard expensive physical bullion to shield yourself.

There is a little-known market loophole that essentially lets you capitalize on this crisis like you are "buying gold at 1973 prices" right before the massive surge.

Click here to discover the "1973 Gold Loophole" and bulletproof your savings before Trump signs the order

Sweden's election produced a photo finish — left bloc leads 176-173 with postal votes still uncounted, final result not until Wednesday.
🇸🇪 Sweden 2026 · Riksdag Seats · 349 total · 175 for majority
Left Bloc · Andersson 176
Social Democrats ~28% · Greens · Left Party · Centre
Right Bloc · Kristersson 173
Moderates ~19% · Sweden Democrats ~17% · Christian Democrats · Liberals
⚠️ Postal & overseas ballots still uncounted · Final result expected Wednesday
Sweden went to the polls Sunday in its most consequential election in a generation — the first since the country joined NATO in March 2024, and the first test of whether the anti-immigration Sweden Democrats could move from outside support to formal government participation for the first time. The result is a near-dead heat. The centre-left opposition bloc headed by former Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson's Social Democrats is projected to win 176 seats in the 349-member Riksdag, against 173 for Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson's right-wing alliance — a margin of just three seats, with postal and overseas ballots still being counted. The SVT exit poll taken Sunday night initially gave the left bloc a projected 183 seats — a comfortable lead. But as the Election Authority's actual count came in through the night, that lead shrank dramatically to the current 176-173 split. The Sweden Democrats slipped from 20.5% in 2022 to approximately 17-17.7%, a notable decline that contributed to the right bloc's underperformance relative to pre-election polls.
"
You cannot imagine how nervous I am right now. It feels like my life's work is hanging in the balance. — Ludvig Aspling, Sweden Democrats MP, election night
For the United States, a Swedish left bloc victory would be diplomatically significant. Andersson's Social Democrats are more supportive of European strategic autonomy and more skeptical of unrestricted American military operations in the Gulf than Kristersson's governing coalition. Sweden is also a new NATO member — and the outcome will shape its contributions to the alliance's posture toward Russia and its diplomatic position on the Iran war. The final result is expected Wednesday — the same day the Fed announces its rate decision.

Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait held emergency consultations over the weekend as oil trading above $100 a barrel creates unbearable economic pressure for Gulf economies whose own exports depend on safe passage through the strait. The Gulf state leaders are trying to get oil flowing again — not out of sympathy for Tehran, but out of self-interest. Their own revenues, sovereign wealth funds, and regional stability depend on a functioning global oil market. Iranian state media Sunday reported that an Iranian cargo vessel was struck off the coast of Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz. The attack killed one person and injured four. The Qeshm governor blamed a "terrorist enemy." CENTCOM did not claim responsibility. Iran brushed aside a Reuters report that Chinese entities provided satellite images of a U.S. base in Jordan to Iran before a July attack that killed three American troops.

Gulf state leaders are talking with Iran and trying to get oil flowing again. But the Iranian foreign minister says Tehran won't cooperate until Washington agrees to stop the tanker strikes. — WORLD Radio, September 14, 2026
The Omani back-channel between Washington and Tehran remains the primary diplomatic track. The talks have not produced a ceasefire or even a framework for one — but both sides are talking through intermediaries, which is more than was happening in June. Whether Gulf state mediation can bridge the gap is the diplomatic question of the week. Oil prices will answer it faster than any statement from either capital.

An AI industry leader called for a slowdown in the AI race — and the argument connects directly to your power bill.

Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis, speaking at a major technology conference this week, called for an industry-wide slowdown in AI development — saying that the pace of advancement has outrun humanity's ability to understand what it is building. "We are creating systems whose behavior we cannot fully predict," Hassabis said. "The honest answer is that we don't know what AGI looks like until we're looking at it. And by then, the window to course-correct may be very narrow." The remarks were notable because Hassabis leads one of the three most significant AI research organizations in the world. For the Americans who read Dark Bulls, the AI buildout connects to something more concrete than abstract risk. Data centers now account for roughly 4% of U.S. electricity consumption; by 2030, estimates put that at 8-10%. Power grids not designed for this load are being asked to handle it in real time. Power outages are more frequent and longer in duration than they were a decade ago. The AI buildout is being filled by natural gas — part of why electricity prices remain elevated even outside of the Iran war context.

We are creating systems whose behavior we cannot fully predict. The honest answer is that we don't know what AGI looks like until we're looking at it. — Demis Hassabis, Google DeepMind CEO
For anyone thinking about backup power, grid resilience, or the stability of electricity-dependent medical equipment, the AI buildout is not a technology story — it's a household infrastructure story. The gap between grid capacity and data center demand is being filled today, in every region of the country, and you're paying for it on your electricity bill.

Did you know that the human gut can store up to 10-15 pounds of stuck poop?

I was surprised to learn this myself.

It turns out… Chronic constipation is what killed Elvis, according to his personal doctor, Dr. George Nichopoulos.

The autopsy showed that his colon was full of more than 30 pounds of feces.

Chronic constipation enlarges your colon, and Elvis's colon was twice as long and twice as wide as a normal colon.

And even worse, constipation can lead to all kinds of seemingly unrelated problems like fatigue, brain fog, skin irritations, bad breath, headaches and joint pain…

Thankfully there's something you can do at home to help flush it out.

Try this quick and easy test…

Stand in front of a mirror, turn sideways, and look at your belly.

If your belly sticks out or spills over your pant line, you might want to try something we call 'the instant fat flush'...

It takes just 7 seconds each morning to do and you can flush out 10 to 15 pounds of backed-up fecal weight… Shrinking a big tummy in just 24 hours.

>> Release 10 to 15 pounds of backed-up fecal weight using this 7-second solution

For the last 2 years, my team and I have been fortunate to work with Dr. Gina Sam, a Top Gut Health Doctor in New York City.

Dr. Gina Sam is an international expert in gastrointestinal motility, which is a fancy way of saying 'pooping speed'.

And she discovered a breakthrough that is allowing men and women all over the world to "flush out" and achieve that trim waistline.

Finally it's possible to restore the digestive process, improving poop speed, and shrinking a big tummy in just 24 hours.

>> This 7-second solution is like a pressure wash for your insides

Dr. Gina Sam's list of celebrities and wealthy clients, raves about her instant slimming solution.

I have tried everything and nothing ever worked for my constipation until now, so I'm a faithful user myself. I wouldn't travel or go anywhere without it.

So far thousands of men and women have tried it with undeniable results. There's absolutely nothing like this and that's why so many have called it a "life saver" or "digestion miracle".

Check it out here and don't forget to let me know how well it works for you!

★ 1st Black American in US Open final since Arthur Ashe, 1972
Alexander Zverev won his second Grand Slam title of 2026 Sunday afternoon, defeating Ben Shelton 6-3, 7-6(2), 5-7, 6-2 at Arthur Ashe Stadium in front of a sold-out crowd that spent three and a half hours willing an American upset that didn't come. Zverev was so locked in that when he closed out the match, he didn't even hear the chair umpire's announcement. "In that moment I was in the zone, a lot," he said. "I didn't hear noise at all. I was in this kind of tunnel where I just didn't hear anything." He accepted the Tiffany & Co. trophy from Jimmy Connors and $5.5 million in prize money. Shelton won the third set 7-5, breaking Zverev's serve for the first time in 66 straight service games to keep the match alive. That set gave the crowd — and Shelton — a moment of genuine belief. It didn't last. Zverev was hit with a time violation in the fourth set, protested it, and then went up 3-1 and closed it out. For Shelton, the consolation is significant: at 23 years old, he became the first Black American man in a US Open final since Arthur Ashe in 1972. The drought continues. But the contender is established.
"
You're one of the very best players in the world, maybe the best player in the world this year. — Ben Shelton to Zverev, trophy ceremony, Arthur Ashe Stadium
Saturday's women's final was Sabalenka over Rybakina. Zverev's 25-2 record in major matches in 2026 is the most wins of any player in a single year since Djokovic. He has now won Roland Garros and the US Open, reached the Wimbledon final, and tied Jannik Sinner atop the PIF ATP Race to Turin. Whether 2026 goes down as the year Zverev finally became what everyone expected him to be is the dominant question heading into the Asian swing.
