The Hidden Middleman Cut Built Into Every Cup of Coffee
Green Coffee Ground coffee prices hit a record high of $9.72 per pound at U.S. grocery stores earlier this year, and remain elevated at over $9.30 per pound today.

Yet famous coffee brands do not own coffee trees. They act as asset-light marketers who buy green beans through networks of exporters, traders, and brokers. Every middleman takes a fee along the way, passing costs directly to the consumer while squeezing profits.

Green Coffee Company built a direct solution. As the largest producer of Colombian arabica coffee, we grow coffee on our own 45 farms, process it in our proprietary eco-mills, and maintain control of it all the way through roasting and delivery to store shelves. By controlling every step from seed to sale, we eliminate middleman markups and capture margin across the entire supply chain.

AMD crossed $1 trillion in market capitalization Monday — the first time in the company's history — as AI chip demand pushed the stock up 10% in a single session and 180% for the year.

Advanced Micro Devices crossed $1 trillion in market capitalization for the first time Monday, as its stock hit a record intraday high of $613.92 on the strength of a five-day rally tied to AI chip demand. AMD climbed as much as 10% on the day, placing the chipmaker alongside Micron, Broadcom, Taiwan Semiconductor, and Nvidia in the exclusive club of semiconductor companies valued at or above $1 trillion. The five-session run added about 24% to AMD stock, bringing its year-to-date gain to more than 180%. AMD's data center revenue grew 57% year-over-year in the most recent quarter, driven by demand for its MI300 AI accelerator chips.
The AMD milestone reflects how broadly AI infrastructure spending has expanded beyond Nvidia. A year ago, AMD was seen as a distant second in AI chips. Today it is a $1 trillion company. For investors who held Nvidia but passed on AMD, the comparison is stark: both companies have been among the best-performing large-cap stocks of the past 18 months, and AMD's move to $1 trillion suggests the AI chip market is large enough for more than one dominant player. Brent crude held near $100 Monday as diplomacy at the UN General Assembly maintained a lid on energy prices for a fifth session.

The AI chip story has real-world implications beyond portfolios. Data centers powered by AMD and Nvidia processors are consuming electricity at rates that are reshaping power grids across the country. Utility companies in Virginia, Texas, and Georgia — the three states with the highest concentrations of data centers — have all filed for rate increases this year tied to AI infrastructure load. Congress passed a bill last week requiring advance grid planning before new data centers are approved. AMD at $1 trillion is the financial headline; the electricity bill is the kitchen-table consequence.

If you're near or over 73, this matters.

Most retirees take their Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) the default way. In cash. And that's where the problem starts.

Because taking RMDs the wrong way can mean:

▶ More taxes for Washington
▶ Less compounding for you
▶ A smaller legacy for your family

What most retirees don't realize is that IRS Code 408(m) allows RMDs to be handled differently — in a way that may help protect more of what you've earned.

But timing matters. Once the distribution hits your account, options shrink fast.

We created a free guide explaining:

▶ The #1 RMD trap
▶ Why inflation quietly erodes cash distributions
▶ How some retirees are repositioning before it's too late

Trump addresses the UN today with Iran dominating the agenda — as the Greenland security deal is signed, and Iran's Revolutionary Guard warns it will "change the geography of the war" if the U.S. escalates.
President Trump delivers his address to the UN General Assembly today — his first UNGA speech of the second term — with Iran expected to be the central topic. U.S. Ambassador Mike Waltz said Trump will highlight "the importance of ensuring that Iran never has a nuclear weapon" and tout American economic pressure and the blockade. The speech comes five days after Trump told Axios he faces "a big decision" on whether to "annihilate" Iran, and four days after Iran's IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebbi warned the Revolutionary Guard has "prepared for a long-term war" and will "change the geography of the war" if the United States escalates further.
The Greenland security agreement is being signed on the UNGA sidelines today by the governments of the United States, Denmark, and Greenland. The deal — announced by Trump on Friday — gives the U.S. permanent military access, basing rights, and overflight rights over Greenland, with no expiration date. Russia and China are explicitly barred from establishing military bases or making sensitive investments on the island. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said the agreement "strengthens our common security in the Arctic and the North Atlantic area" while preserving Danish sovereignty. It still requires parliamentary approval in Denmark and Greenland before taking full effect.
"
The war is not over. We have prepared for a long-term war. If the United States escalates, we will change the geography of the war.
— IRGC Spokesman Hossein Mohebbi, September 21, 2026
Iranian President Pezeshkian addresses the General Assembly Wednesday. No direct meeting between Trump and Pezeshkian is on the schedule, though Qatar is maintaining its back-channel role. The Houthis pushed Monday to seize strategic heights in Yemen that would cut off the remaining Red Sea coastline held by the Saudi-led coalition — a move that would further tighten the Bab al-Mandab Strait through which Gulf oil exports must travel. Brent crude, which has fallen five straight sessions on diplomacy hopes, is sensitive to any escalation signal from today's Trump speech.

Biden spent four years printing money and calling it prosperity.

The result? The worst inflation in a generation. Your groceries. Your gas. Your savings. All torched. Quietly. Deliberately. On purpose.

Trump has known this game for decades. He's the only president in modern history willing to say out loud what the establishment has hidden for 50 years.

And now insiders are saying he's preparing to sign an executive order that could change everything.

The U.S. owns 8,133 tonnes of gold — still valued on the books at $42.22 an ounce. A price set in 1973. Never updated.

Gold trades above $3,100 today. That gap is over 7,000% — the single largest financial correction waiting to happen in American history.
Trump has the legal authority to revalue that gold with a single executive order. When he signs it, it won't be a gold rally. It will be the Great American Gold Reset.

The last time Washington reset the gold price, one asset gained 2,300% in under a decade.

The patriots who are positioned before it happens will watch their wealth multiply while the establishment panics.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps spokesman Hossein Mohebbi issued a stark warning Monday as Trump prepared for his UNGA address: "The war is not over. We have prepared for a long-term war. If the United States escalates, we will change the geography of the war." The statement represents a direct counter-signal to the diplomatic atmosphere created by oil's five-day decline — Iran is telling markets not to price in a ceasefire that hasn't been agreed to. IRGC commanders have been transferred to Yemen alongside missile equipment, according to Reuters, enabling the Houthis to maintain long-range strike capability without direct IRGC exposure.
The Houthis pushed Monday to seize strategic heights in Yemen that would cut off the remaining Red Sea coastline from areas still held by the Saudi-led coalition. A successful Houthi advance would give Iran's proxy effective control of the Bab al-Mandab Strait — the chokepoint through which roughly 10% of global trade normally passes, already severely disrupted since the war began in February. In a separate and less-covered development, seven armed rebel groups in Ethiopia announced a coalition to topple Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's government and form a transitional government — one of the most significant developments in African security this year, and one with implications for the Horn of Africa's already-stretched maritime routes.
"
The Bab al-Mandab Strait is emerging as a central economic battlespace with global consequences. The conflict is transitioning into a multi-front campaign with distributed actors applying coordinated pressure.

China expelled two former top military generals from the Chinese Communist Party on Monday, accusing them of disloyalty and taking bribes — the latest in President Xi Jinping's ongoing purge of the People's Liberation Army. The purge has now removed or demoted more than a dozen senior military figures over the past year, raising questions in Western defense circles about the reliability of China's military command structure during a period of elevated global tension.

NBC, CBS, ABC, and CNN boycotted the White House press pool after the administration excluded them from a Trump event — the first major network walkout since the modern press pool was established.
Four of the five major broadcast and cable news networks — NBC, CBS, ABC, and CNN — walked out of the White House press pool Monday after the Trump administration excluded them from covering a presidential event and replaced the traditional rotating pool with a handpicked group of friendlier outlets. The pool system, established decades ago to ensure independent media access to the president, is based on all credentialed outlets sharing coverage responsibilities. The networks said they will not participate in a system where access is granted or denied based on editorial coverage. Fox News, which was included in the administration's preferred pool, participated. The White House has not commented on the walkout.
Separately, ICE agents beat a U.S. citizen in Evanston, Illinois and left him in the street, according to a report from the Daily Beans and local officials. The administration is also hiding the locations of thousands of immigration detainees, according to legal advocates, making it impossible for families and attorneys to locate individuals in federal custody. A federal judge set a hearing for Wednesday on an emergency motion filed by CNN, MSNBC, and Politico challenging the White House's media access restrictions. For Americans who get their news from television — and for the over-50 demographic that relies most heavily on broadcast news — the press pool boycott has immediate practical implications for what gets covered and from whose perspective.

RFK Jr. received free private flights to Fiji and Greece from a top donor while serving as HHS Secretary, according to reporting published Monday. The flights were not disclosed on required financial forms. RFK Jr.'s office said the flights were personal travel unrelated to his government role. The White House said it was "reviewing the matter." Meanwhile, the White House is moving to take control of National Institutes of Health grant decisions — a move that would give political appointees veto power over scientific research funding for the first time in the agency's history.

AG Blanche's deadline to produce the FBI's Epstein interview notes is tomorrow — and the judge who issued the order has already warned she will hold him in contempt if he misses it.
September 24 is tomorrow. Attorney General Todd Blanche — who served as Trump's personal defense attorney before becoming the nation's chief law enforcement officer — must produce FBI agents' handwritten notes from Epstein-related interviews by Wednesday or face contempt proceedings in federal court. Among the documents at issue is an interview with a woman who told federal agents that both Trump and Epstein abused her when she was a girl. U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell has been explicit: she is not satisfied with the Justice Department's prior explanations, the redaction justifications have not been validated, and the deadline is not flexible.
Blanche is simultaneously sitting on the Leon Black contempt referral passed unanimously by the House last week. Black paid Epstein more than $170 million between 2012 and 2017, walked out of a congressional deposition in June, and has now been formally referred to the Justice Department for prosecution. Blanche must decide whether to pursue that case — and the intersection of Black's payments with the president's own history with Epstein makes that decision politically explosive regardless of which way it goes.
"
The September 24 deadline is tomorrow. Blanche must produce FBI Epstein interview notes or face contempt. Producing them exposes the president. Defying the court exposes Blanche. There is no good option.

The political calendar compounds the pressure. Trump is at the United Nations today, delivering his most significant foreign policy address of the second term. His approval rating is at a second-term low of 41%. Midterms are seven weeks away. The Epstein deadline lands in the middle of UNGA week — the worst possible moment for a constitutional confrontation between the attorney general and a federal judge. The Justice Department has made no public statement about Wednesday's deadline.
